Angie & Brandons Mountain Wedding Preview:: Weddings

When I met this couple this summer, I immediately thought.."these guys are going to have the coolest laid back wedding ever." Together since 9th grade, Angie and Brandon are a couple who've already stood the test of time. It was only a matter of time before the finally tied the knot. Rather than making it a large extravagant affair, they played it low key up in the town of Frisco in the beautiful Rocky Mountains. The guest list was intimate and the atmosphere was laid back and feel good. Hands down it was one of the most beautiful, touching wedding ceremonies I have ever witnessed and the most ideal location for a wedding I've seen. This couple "made" their environment and atmosphere and enjoyed every minute of it and I couldn't be happier for them. Can't wait to unveil more, but here is a preview of their special day.

In blogging all morning and sitting on my computer I realized that it was 10 degrees and snowing out side. But I had not ventured out to really feel it. SO i figured I'd better document this terribly cold day.

My hooping experience is this... Its frustrating yet incredibly liberating. I love to dance, so naturally hooping combined with dancing it pretty amazing. Its hilarious when people stare as they drive by because to be honest you look like a circus freak. But I don't care. My goal is to get good before Bonnaroo so that I can take my hoops with me and dance the night away. But I definilty need to find a cheap collapsable hoop.

2011, what do you have in store?:: Life

Well its the last day of January, the first month of the new year, and I have mixed feelings for this new year. Either way its going to happen whether I like it or not, so I suppose its best to go with the flow and allow life to continue on as it always does and join it.

I have to decided to re-tool my blog a little bit this year, because I started this blog for my "business" which is at a compleate stand-still right now, so I have nothing to blog from that department. So instead of working backwards, I am going to start smaller and use this space to share my life with the universe (or cyberland- how ever you look at it). My journey as a photographer is surely not over and I hope only to grow every day from here forward but im not going to pressure it as much.

I have been following some fabulous bloggers, and learning so much from their experiences. I love reading about Tara Whitney's adventures with her children, her struggles, her dreams and of course getting to look at beautiful photography as well. But reading her blog has taught me so much about the lifestyle behind photography. It's not something that you just do for money. It is a true love and passion. It doesn't matter if your getting paid. Tara's ability to capture her life through photos is what I love about photography.

Through reading Tara's blog I have found other great photogs to "cyber stalk" like, Marina who runs Red Heart Photography out of Hawaii. What a great place to live and be a photographer. Talk about beauty. The one thing that bums me out about colorado is that from November to April its hit or miss on good weather and shooting in the gray cold is no fun!

This year is my year.... I think.

The first bump, was having to put down our sweet 9 year old newfounland, Roxy. Such a good companion and friend. I have a great respect for her, the fact that she was a dog really did not change the fact that she was one of my greatest friends and our years together were some of the best in my life. Its hard to say good bye.

Now, a few weeks later, I am surviving and Im pretty sure that someday we will be together again.
I want to move forward. Because if I stay here, I am stuck in the last day of January and 10 degree weather in a mess of an office with cold toes. Hoping to hop forward to spring. I read a post called 2011 Permissions this morning on Alicia's (another blogger and fellow Hooper, I am stalking these days) blog. So I would like to participate in this as well.

So I would like to finish this post with my 11 Permissions for 2011.

I give myself permission to...

1. Love myself more for who I am and who I will become
2. quit talking about needing to lose weight, and just be active everyday to see where it goes.
3. indulge everyonce in a while without feeling guilty.
4. be un afraid of what people think of me.
5. contiue trying new things but to not give up.
6. allow my self to grow and learn at my own pace.
7. Spend more time alone with my husband.
8. be outside as much as possible.
9. see/hear/feel/enjoy as much music as possible this year.
10. Go through my photos and trim down and make room for new stuff.
11. love others without a motive.

Something to be Thankful for!:: Life

November greetings!

It's been a while since I've blogged. I want to blog. I want to find that outlet that I have been searching for. It's tough. Daily routine is something that I constantly struggle with. Not to mention, Im pretty sure that no one is reading. Are you reading? Leave a comment!

Anyhow, here it is: Fall again! or shall I say the precursor to winter, which I know is right around the corner. I dread the fact that I cannot enjoy the summer sun for quite a while but I am getting over it slowly. Thanksgiving is around the bend and I have been a little blue these days, not finding much to be thankful for. Money is tight, work is slow, and school is chugging along like usual. Life does not stop, even when you don't feel like moving along with it. But in the spirit of the holiday, I am trying to realize that my life is full of love and that its not always easy, but there is so much to be thankful for.

I am thankful for:

My wonderful husband, who loves me no matter what when or why. He is the greatest gift I could ever ask for as my birthday approaches on the 27th.

We've been together for 9 years as of November 17th. I wouldn't trade a day for anything.

He bought me my camera, and has inspired this journey of photography.

He inspires me everyday to love myself and to love others with an open heart.

Theses guys make me smile everyday!

No matter what you do, they love you unconditionally. I am pretty sure that I love my dogs more than I love most people.

They are like my children. Roxy (bottom), 8 years old is getting old and tired. I am afraid we are only going to have a few more years together. She has shown me more love than I could have ever imagined. Boston (top), the baby at a year and a half, is full of life and energy. He makes me work harder than I want to.

My Family

This is the last photo taken of my family together.

We used to be a fearsome four, but since life gets in the way sometimes groups are dismantled.

My parents are now divorced, I am living my own life, and my brother is doing the same.

But one thing remains; I have a mother that is my best friend, a father who taught me all of lifes lessons that I never wanted to learn and a little brother who is so talented and has taught me about living life to its fullest. We can't always have what we want but we can hold on to what we have and for that I am eternally greatful.

The two of us make the perfect girl. We have created a bond that cannot be broken.

I am so lucky that I get to have my cake and eat it to. I get to live the married life with my husband, and still retreat to have some girl time with my best friend. Its the best of both worlds!

I am thankful for my friends, for whom I have many photos but it would consume this entire blog. I have many wonderful friends. Friendship is probably one of the things that I value most in this world. I strive to be a friend to all those I meet- the world could be so much greater if we were all friends.

The more I write, the more I realize that this could be an exhausted list of things. I have so much to be thankful for.

It is a great life, it's just not as easy as it looks in the pictures we take. The inbetween is what is hard, but we always get back to happy sooner or later.

Fishing with Bubbles:: Life

Lately I have had a facination with bubbles. I can't help but find the simplistic joy in watching a sphere of soapy water float up into the air. Everyone loves bubbles, they can't help it. If you don't like bubbles there is seriously something wrong with your inner child. My husband and I have found a new hobby in fishing, as cruel as I think it is sometimes there is something very calming about it and the quiet peace that surrounds you is something that cannot be recreated. Its a very beautiful thing to find peace in your own back yard. How have I missed out on life outdoors in colorado? I have to say that this summers adventures have been full of nature and I love it.

Pete & Rachel :: Engagement Sessions

Pete and Rachel are two friends of mine. I have never actually seen the two of them together, only seperate in different places. I have known that they were together, I heard about Pete proposing during a Moe show and compleatly surprising Rachel, but in the few years that I have known them I had never actually seen them in the same room together. When I met them to go off to boulder to shoot their engagement pictures, it all started coming together. Pete was shining his shoes and rachel was putting the finishing touches on her makeup routine. She asks for a diet Mountain dew, and imediately he jokes "no". But sure enough he comes around the corner with her request.

Pete wasn't too big on having his picture taken, in fact I had heard from another friend that he wont let anyone take his picture. It turns out that with his love by his side, he seemed to forget about the camera a little. All too often they would fake a gushy kiss and be lovey-dovey, but what they didn't realize was that the inbtween moments- when the thought no one was looking you could truely tell that they were in love.

I haven't had much time to know them as a couple, but what I do know is this..

they love music, they love Moe, and they love eachother.

Andrea's Portrait Sesh: Portraits

As I waited on a bench in front of Denver's Union Station for my first "real" client I tried to play it cool. I browsed through a newspaper and nerviously gazed through my sunglasses looking for Andrea. I tried to guess which woman walking my direction might be her. Finally she showed up, catching me by surprise-walking in from the side. She was shy but friendly and we sat for moment to get to know each other.

I tried to think off all the times I worked with other photographers; what they asked me, where we went, how they coached me, but everything went out the window and I just went for it.

We cruised around Denver looking for fun spots to shoot.

Love those green eyes! Andrea was great to work with and i hope I get the chance to do more fun portrait work!

My First Blog : Life

Apparently all of the photographers today have blogs. That's just fine with me, except I want to have a great blog that doesn't cost me much. This will have to do for now until I can afford to get pro-photo which is by far the coolest and most customizable blog designer.

This is my first blog, so welcome to my life. If your reading this, I'm far cooler than I thought I was. Hopefully you will like my work, and my zany personality. It shines through from time to time. I am starting this blog to compliment my website: www.Livetolovephotography.blogspot.com, which has been my all consuming project for the last few months.

To you fellow photogs out there- I would love feedback, pointers, tips and tricks to get my self out there. I want to share my passion of photography with the world, but I have found my self in a rut!
